  • B.S./B.A. in biological sciences preferred. Work requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology or other directly related scientific field
  • Two years of experience.
  • Experience in genetics and/or molecular/cellular biology, including molecular cloning, cell biology and biochemistry.
  • Experience in animal husbandry but not preferred.
  • Experience analyzing signal transduction invitro or in vivo.
  • Cell culture experience.

Job Description:

  • Lab Research Analyst I/Lab Manager needed for our client’s laboratory.
  • The project is focused on analyzing epigenetic effects on DNA damage-induced cell signaling in human cancer cells using cell and molecular biology approaches.
  • Conduct a variety of investigations in the planning, development and implementation of experimental procedures and specialized laboratory techniques in the analysis of materials under experimentation.
  • Collect information and data through observation, experimentation and various other methods, to include operating highly technical laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare tissue and specimens for complex procedures, and devise experimental techniques for tests and analyses.
  • Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Confer with principal investigator in determining specific experiments to be included in the research protocol and to discuss the interpretation of results.
  • Review journals, abstracts and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous experiments to aid in the design and development of original procedures and techniques.
  • Supervise, train and instruct residents, interns, students or lower level personnel in laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Perform experiments in molecular cloning, cell biology and biochemistry.
  • Assist in developing and utilizing technology for analyzing signal transduction in vitro and vivo.
  • Organize experiments and tests by studying project objectives and processes.
  • Document results by maintaining logs; charting data; preparing reports.
  • Maintain an organized and complete laboratory notebook detailing all experiments in paper and electronic formats Keep project leader/PI informed by pointing all important positive and negative results.
  • Training will be provided with hands-on equipment maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
