Role Overview: This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including assessment, medication administration, monitoring, and coordination of individualized treatment plans. The MS/Tele RN monitors cardiac rhythms and changes in patient condition, collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, and ensures safe, evidence-based care throughout the patient’s hospitalization.

Requirements:
- Required 1 year of experience.
- Required 1 year of Epic charting experience.
- Medication System: Omnicell.
- Flu Vaccine Required – No Exemptions.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TN active RN license.
- Must have at least 1 year of MS/Tele experience.
- First time travelers must have at least one year of experience.
Skills:
- Respiratory: Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks.
- Gastrointestinal
- Genitourinary/Renal
- Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Substance Withdrawal.
- IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting and maintaining IVs
- Work settings: MS/Tele.
- Medications: Heparin Protocol.
- Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmia,
- Isolation Precautions/PPE
Special Procedures Details:
- Post heart cath
- Bedside procedures- dialysis cath, thoracentesis, I&D
Schedule:
- Shift hours: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other but may change based on need.
- Float: Required if needed.
