Role Overview: This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including assessment, medication administration, monitoring, and coordination of individualized treatment plans. The MS/Tele RN monitors cardiac rhythms and changes in patient condition, collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, and ensures safe, evidence-based care throughout the patient’s hospitalization.

Requirements:
  • Required 1 year’s experience.
  • Required 1 year of Epic charting experience.
  • Previous Charge Experience required.
  • Medication System: Omnicell.
  • Flu Vaccine Required – No Exemptions.
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TN active RN license.
  • Required 1 year’s experience for travelers.

Skills:
  • Respiratory: BiPAP/CPAP management, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks.
  • Gastrointestinal.
  • Genitourinary/Renal.
  • Neurological/Psychiatric.
  • CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident).
  • Substance Withdrawal.
  • IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management.
  • Work settings: MS/Tele.
  • Genitourinary/Renal: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management.
  • Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management.
  • Medications: Heparin, Insulin, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration.
  • Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmia, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams.

Special Procedures Details:
  • Inpatient unit for stroke and TIA patients.
  • Peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.

Schedule:
  • Shift hours: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
  • Weekend Coverage: Every Other
  • Float: Based on need and skill set
