Overview
- Specialty: Pharmacist Inpatient
- Start Date: May 13, 2024
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day 5x8, Monday – Friday, 8:00a-4:30p
- 40 total hours in 1 week
Role Description
This is a contract on-site role for a Travel Pharmacist in Boone, NC. The Travel Pharmacist will be responsible for providing direct patient care providing great customer service to other healthcare teammates over the phone or in person.
Qualifications
- Must have a PharmD degree
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of North Carolina
- Copy of Certifications (preferred; BLS, ACLS & PALS must be via AHA, all certifications and licenses must be current and not expire while on contract)
- Prior experience with pharmacist to dose protocols would be preferred. At least one (1) year of experience
- EMR – EPIC (recent experience required)
- Verify medication orders, review orders checking for patient allergies, drug interactions, drug disease state interactions, and check orders for appropriate therapy
- Verify home meds against a medication reconciliation report, utilize pharmacist to dose consults, consult with the physicians, residents, and other members of the healthcare team when appropriate
- Check IV admixtures, ensuring accuracy of final product, and also ensuring patient safety by ensuring IV admixtures were prepared in accordance with USP 797/800 guidelines
