Summary

. The HR Generalist/Recruiter will assist with the daily functions of the HR department including hiring, interviewing, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices for the agency.  Will also have a minimum of one year recruiting in a commercial competitive environment.  Must keep up to date on HR Policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Some college coursework specific to General Business or Human Resources preferred
  • PHR/SPHR certification or SHRM-Certified Professional is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a HR role that involves recruiting, onboarding/training, employee relations, managing regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
  • Must be proficient in MS Office software, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail
  • High-energy, friendly, outgoing personality
  • Writing, composition, and grammar skills adequate to create professional quality letters and emails.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

May have some supervisory responsibilities as the business grows.

 

Essential Functions

  • Support the Company and clients in all HR functions including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, employee/supervisor relations, managing change in regulatory and compliance issues; act as the subject matter expert in these areas.
  • Drive organization, leadership, culture and talent solutions that optimizes the organization and enables business growth and success.
  • Provide both transformational advice and transactional support that delivers best practice HR solutions to support company  
  • Drive all HR initiatives  including performance appraisals, merit increase process, restructures, learning and development programs, change initiatives, succession planning, etc.
  • Responsible for facilitating positive employee relations by assisting employees and managers in resolving work related complaints/issues, counsels management on how to handle situations and ensure good communication between employees and managers.
  • Proactively gain client feedback to support HR areas to improve service levels.
  • Evaluate reports, decisions and results of HR initiatives in relation to established goals; recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to the continual improvements in efficiency of the HR department and services performed.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of client issues and provide solutions with the client’s best interest in mind.
  • Equip managers and clients with tools and knowledge to effectively manage their teams in alignment with their people/business plan.
  • Partner with business development managers to support existing clients and grow the client base.
  • Provide coaching sessions to support clients’ needs in regard to employee engagement, retention and performance management.
  • Maintain HR certifications by attending accredited seminars, training courses and keep current with trends in the HR profession.
  • Contribute articles for the monthly newsletter in regard to relevant HR topics and issues.

Physical Demands

This position is primarily remote.  May become hybrid once Pandemic numbers decrease.    

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting.  This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, copier, filing cabinets and fax machine.

Travel

Travel is not required.
